Update given on investigation of man found unresponsive in cell at Eau Claire County Jail

EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) - Authorities are providing an update to an investigation into the death of a man found unresponsive in his jail cell at the Eau Claire County Jail.

According to the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office, the death took place on Aug. 4, 2025. The man is identified as 39-year-old Robert Manning-Harris.

The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office says Manning-Harris was arrested on Aug. 2, 2025, on a warrant.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

According to the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office, an autopsy completed by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office did not reveal any traumatic injuries. Results of the toxicology testing are pending.
