Investigation underway into inmate death at Stanley Correctional Institution

STANLEY, Wis. (WEAU) - Authorities say an inmate has died at a local prison.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, 46-year-old Shawn Bauer died on October 16 at the Stanley Correctional Institution.

The DOC told WEAU “as with all deaths at department of corrections facilities, local law enforcement and the county coroner or medical examiner were called to investigate.”

WEAU plans to file records requests to try and learn more about the circumstances surrounding Bauer’s death.
