ADAIR COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/Gray News) - A Kentucky woman was arrested for allegedly tattooing a toddler.

According to court documents, Adair County law enforcement responded Monday to a child abuse complaint at a residence in Columbia.

Police arrived and made contact with 27-year-old Brook McDaniel.

Officers asked McDaniel if she gave a 22-month-old a tattoo on the child’s arm. McDaniel confirmed she did, saying it happened while she was tattooing her leg. The child walked up and stuck an arm in the path of McDaniel’s tattoo gun, she said.

Police said the child had a black tattoo dot on the right forearm and redness around the area.

Several witnesses at the scene confirmed that McDaniel gave the tattoo and the child requested it.

McDaniel was arrested and charged with one count of fourth-degree assault-child abuse. McDaniel was booked at the Adair County Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
