Silver Screen Spotlight: “Supergirl” and others land at Micon Cinemas

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - It’s Supergirl’s time to shine at Micon Cinemas this week.

The week’s first new release is DC’s “Supergirl.” Kara is a bit of a loner, preferring Krypto’s company over anyone else’s. But when he’s hurt, she has to step outside her comfort zone, teaming up with a young woman whose family was murdered by the same bandits Kara’s chasing. Rated PG-13, “Supergirl” is playing at Micon Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls.

Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, and the thrill-seeking gang are setting off on one final adventure. In their new movie, which they’re calling their “best and last,” you can revisit some of their greatest stunts and experience some new ones too. Rated R, of course, the comedy is playing in Chippewa Falls and at the Oakwood Mall.

The minions are coming back to the big screen, and this time they want to shoot a monster movie. The problem? They don’t have a monster. So with a little questionable magic, they summon one, but things don’t go as planned. Featuring the minions you know and love, and new characters too, “Minions & Monsters” starts Wednesday at Micon Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, and the Oakwood Mall.

The summer kids’ series continue with “Kung Fu Panda 4″ on Monday and Tuesday at Micon Oakwood Mall and “Sonic the Hedgehog 3″ on Wednesday and Thursday in Chippewa Falls. Tickets are just $2.

The Micon Downtown Cinema is temporarily closed.
