EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - It’s a busy week at Micon Cinemas.

On Friday, Micon will have an early screening of the baseball documentary “Ueck” before it opens officially next weekend. “Ueck” chronicles the life and career of Wisconsin sports legend Bob Uecker, who passed away in January of last year. Uecker was an announcer and commentator for the Milwaukee Brewers for over 50 years, and got his professional start right here in the Chippewa Valley. He also starred in the 1989 sports comedy “Major League.” Micon will have the documentary’s directors in town for a toast to Mr. Baseball on Friday at 8 p.m. at Micon’s Eau Claire location.

Another new release this week is “One Night Only.” Have you ever wondered what “The Purge” would be like... romantically? That’s essentially the gist here; intimacy outside of marriage isn’t allowed, except for one night a year. Monica Barbaro (“A Complete Unknown”) and Mr. Dua Lipa, Callum Turner, star. The rom-com is playing at Micon Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls.

This week at Micon, you can head back to Spurbury and check in with the Super Troopers. Thorny’s sister is getting married, and he’s not a fan of his future brother-in-law, the boisterous Farva. In fact, he wants to put a stop to their wedding. Featuring old faces and new, “Super Troopers 3″ is screening at Micon Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls.

A new movie from seasoned horror director Eli Roth is out this weekend. In “Ice Cream Man,” sugary treats and the man slinging them are turning kids into killers. Given that Roth is at the helm, it’s bound to be pretty bloody. “Ice Cream Man” is playing at the Oakwood Mall.

The adorable documentary “Cookie Queens” opens this weekend at Micon Oakwood Mall. The heartwarming feature follows a troupe during their most exciting time of the year: cookie season. Rated G, “Cookie Queens” is playing exclusively at the mall.

The summer kids’ series wraps up this week with “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” on Monday and Tuesday at the Oakwood Mall and “Minions: The Rise of Gru” on Wednesday and Thursday in Chippewa Falls. Tickets are just $2.

The Micon Downtown Cinema is temporarily closed due to smoke damage.
