We’re finally getting a break from the more active weather this morning, but it is still chilly out there for our Sunday morning. Winds are allowing for wind chill values in the teens and potentially the single digits in a few spots. Clouds remain in place, as temperatures have warmed back up into the 20s. We won’t see much change as the day goes on, with mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies in store. Later in the day, we’ll see winds turn more out of the southwest This, and a turn more towards zonal upper-level flow will allow for a warmup moving into the new week. We’ll still be dealing with clouds Sunday night and into Monday as a system passes to our north. We should remain dry as it moves past.

Low pressure will continue to depart, leaving us with partly cloudy skies to end the weekend.

Monday brings the return of sunshine, with temperatures in the mid 30s, with the 40s in grasp on Tuesday. A mid-level disturbance coupled with a cold front will bring in a chance for some isolated to scattered showers. Colder air will arrive behind the front into Wednesday, with upper-level troughing dominating much of the Midwest. Temperatures will likely drop from the 20s to the 10s during the day Wednesday. Being sandwiched in-between low pressure to the east and high pressure to the west, winds are likely to pick up yet again. Another disturbance will move into the upper Midwest to close out the workweek, returning snow chances to the area as early as Thursday afternoon/evening and into Friday. Troughing could return into the weekend, allowing for another blast of colder air Saturday.
