HUDSON, Wis. (WEAU) - Lane and ramp closures are coming next week on I-94 and WIS 35 in Hudson as part of a rehabilitation project on the St. Croix River bridges that began in early April, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

The crossover that directed two lanes of eastbound I-94 traffic onto the westbound bridge over the St. Croix River closed Friday. All eastbound traffic is currently on the eastbound bridge.

On Monday, Oct. 26, motorists will encounter the closure of the two inside lanes on the westbound bridge as crews restore rumble strips, remove glare screens and replace or remove concrete barriers.

On Tuesday, Oct. 27, the two inside lanes on the westbound I-94 bridge will be closed so permanent pavement markings can be placed.

On Wednesday, Oct. 28, traffic on the westbound I-94 bridge will be shifted to the two inside lanes. The ramps from westbound I-94 to northbound WIS 35 and MN 95 are expected to be closed to traffic at 7 a.m., and the ramp from southbound WIS 35 to westbound I-94 is scheduled to be closed at 8 a.m. The ramps on westbound I-94 to WIS 35 North and MN 95 are expected to reopen by 4:30 p.m. The ramp from southbound WIS 35 to westbound I-94 will remain closed overnight.

On Thursday, Oct. 29, the ramp from southbound WIS 35 to westbound I-94 will reopen once the contractor pours a concrete curb.

The work is weather dependent. Construction on the project is expected to be completed by the second week of November.
